True, based on statistics but also consider the effects. Pot causes you to hallucinate. It has also caused a lot of damage and it is not even legal, so how much more if it is legal? But personally, legalize it.
it is illegal because tax free
Alcohol was (briefly) illegal in America thanks to the 18th Amendment of the United States Constitution. Fortunately, it was repealed after it was realized to be fruitless and more difficult to enforce thus making alcohol legal again.
In 1970 the Controlled Substances Act was voted into law in order to make the classification and regulation of drugs more comprehensive. Marijuana was classified as a schedule 1 drug which classifies it as having a “high potential for abuse,” no “medical use” and lack of safety for use. Because this is a federal law, this makes marijuana illegal in all of the United States.
Some states (California) have enacted laws that allow limited medical use of marijuana. These laws seem to conflict the federal law (which supersedes state law), but it seems to be effective none the less. If a dispute were to make it to the Supreme Court, my guess would be that they would rule that the state law is void.
Oh really???
I guess you haven’t heard that marijuana has 50% to 70% more carcinogens than cigarettes???
pot is a class 1 drug, making it worse than cocaine, amphetamines, and morphine, which are all class 2. or at least according to the people who run our great country. smh…
There is no marijuana lobby in Washington, D.C. As soon as somebody can make money off it legally, there will be, just as there are lobbies for alcohol and tobacco.
this is such a big discussion that has been argued about for YEARS! If you want all the best information watch “Marijuana Inc” or “Marijuana: A chronic history” on the history channel! There are so many movies out there that defend marijuana and they are all filled with valuable information.
