Do Opiates “hit” You Harder if You Have Less Blood Than Normal?
Question by Jake: do opiates “hit” you harder if you have less blood than normal?
i had 1.5 vials of blood drawn today. i was also prescribed hycodan syrup because my coughing is keeping me up all night. one teaspoon of hycodan syrup has the same amount of hydrocodone as a 500mg pill of vicodin. normally it takes 1.5g to 2g of vicodin to knock me out so i figured i would take 3 or 4 teaspoons of hycodan syrup before bed. my question is, will the hydrocodone from the hycodan syrup hit me harder because i have less blood than i normally do?
i know alcohol works like that and they both are cns depressants so i just thought i would ask, thanks.

It will not “hit” you harder.
Vicodin 5/500mg is 5mg of hydrocodone 500mg of Acetaminophen (tylenol)
Hycodan is hydrocodone and homatropine (Homatropine is a drug that works against the narcotic to prevent an overdose of this medication.)
Take your meds as prescribed not to “knock you out”
